    • FOUND: code p0aa4 stored in the battery energy control module. Code indicates that the negative contactor circuit was stuck closed. Cleared the code and was able to start and move the vehicle. There is a possible failure of the negative contactor relay. We'll need to perform further testing may require accessing the high voltage battery and disassembling the battery case to access the high voltage battery junction box.

    • FOUND: found that there was no communication with the powertrain control module which performs the engine management functions. Check powers and ground circuits to the engine control module. Found that the ground circuits were not showing the correct voltage reading when tested. Tracer ground circuits to a broken ground g103 in the right rear corner of the engine compartment. May need additional time to remove components in the engine compartment to allow the repair of the ground circuit. 1.0 additional.

    • FOUND: there is a parasitic drain of approximately 200 milliamps which is draining the battery. Removing fuses 6 and 17 from the interior smart junction box (fuse box) causes the drain to drop to approximately 10 milliamps which would be considered normal. Checked inputs to Smart junction box and found that the module is indicating that the right front passenger door and right rear passenger door are ajar. Will need to remove the door panels to access the door ajar switches for testing and replacement if needed. This problem will have to be corrected and then the smart junction box reevaluated for any other problems that may be causing a parasitic battery drain. 2.0 additional.
    • The door jar switches were accessed and bypassed to create the condition of closed doors. After a period of time the parasitic drain dropped to approximately 15 milliamps which is well within acceptable levels. Recommend replace the front passenger and rear passenger door ajar switch assemblies. These are part of the door latch.

    • FOUND: fuel gauge is currently indicating that there is 20% fuel in the tank. There are no circuit code set indicating a failure of the sending unit. Commanded the fuel gauge to the full and empty ranges with the scan tool and found that it moves to each. If the gauge is not accurate to the actual amount of fuel in the tank, it is likely that the sending unit is defective and miscalibrated. The fuel tank has collapsed most likely due to a buildup of excess vacuum in the tank. The fuel tank has a complete unit will need to be replaced including all the valves that are integral to the fuel tank for fuel and air flow. The fuel pump and fuel sending unit should also be replaced. The evaporative system components will also need to be replaced including the evaporative emissions canister, the purge solenoid, the vent solenoid, and the fuel cap. After replacement all of the EVAP Vapor lines will need to be blown out to make sure that there is no restriction to Vapor flow.
