2015 Chevrolet Equinox
Mileage143,197Service Date8/21/2026Services Performed- FOUND: code p0014 exhaust camshaft position system performance. The scan tool camshaft actuator data indicates that the exhaust camshaft is approximately 5° off from the desired position at idle. The camshaft and crankshaft position sensor waveforms will need to be checked with a lab scope and compared to a known good waveform to determine the relative position of the cam and crankshaft. Will also need to scope test the control circuits for the exhaust cam position solenoid. Additional time may be needed for this testing. Scope testing of the cam position and crank position sensors indicates that the exhaust camshaft waveform from the cam sensor is not lining up correctly with the other waveforms. This could indicate that the camshaft may be out of time or that the phaser is stuck or that the cam position sensor reluctor wheel has shifted on the camshaft. The exhaust camshaft phaser solenoid was Bench tested and verified that it is moving when powered and grounded. The electrical signal from the ECM to the solenoid has also been verified. The exhaust camshaft does not phase when the vehicle is running, even when the solenoid is directly powered and grounded. This could be due to a problem with the cam phaser or the oil supply passages to it. The valve cover will need to be removed and the following inspected: 1 Inspect for correct valve timing and camshaft alignment if possible. 2 Inspect the exhaust camshaft position sensor reluctor wheel for slippage on the camshaft (may require comparison to a new camshaft) 3 Inspect the cam phasers both intake and exhaust to determine if they are loose or possibly stuck in position. The exhaust cam does not phase even when directly powered and grounded.. 4 Inspect for sludge blocking oil passages used by the cam phasers, if possible. 5 inspect timing chain and chain guides if possible for proper and alignment with Cam sprockets.

Mileage119,131Service Date7/17/2026Services Performed- FOUND: tested power and ground to the blower motor and found that they were okay at this time blower motor is working and changes speeds with the switch positions. If the blower motor has continued. Of in operation, it may be necessary to remove the under dash panels and the interior fuse box for further circuit testing.
- FOUND: the brake light bulbs were defective. Power and ground are available at the bulb connections but the bulbs are not lighting. Also found that the socket for the right hand bulb is not connecting properly to the harness connector. Recommend replace the brake light bulbs and the socket for the bright side brake light bulb.
- FOUND: Windows would not move up or down. Found that power could be applied to the motors and the windows would move. Tested the circuits and found that the master switch in the driver's door was not supplying ground paths to the windows to allow the motors to move up and down. Tested the wire harness between the individual door switches and the master switch in the driver's door and found that the wires are okay at this time. Recommend replace the driver's window master switch and retest.
