- FOUND:Code U1510 Lost communication with device on LIN Bus. This code indicates a loss of communication between the engine control module and the active Grille shutter control module. The bolts that have been installed for the aftermarket lights in the bumper are in the path of the active Grille shutter system. When the module attempts to move the shutters they will strike the bolts which will prevent movement and can cause the module to overheat. This is likely why there is no communication with the active Grille shutter module. The bumper fascia will have to be removed and the aftermarket lights will also have to be removed in order to access the active Grille shutter module for further testing. The aftermarket light assembly will have to be removed to prevent further damage, or refabricated to prevent the bolts from interfering with the active Grill shutter movement. Dope tested the circuits to the active Grill shutter module. Found that power and ground is available and at the proper levels. Also tested the Lynn bus circuit and found that it was active from the engine control module but messages were missing from the active Grill shutter module. Recommend replace the complete active Grill shutter assembly with the module.
